A chain of holidays from 28 February to 4 March has accelerated bookings in hotels and resorts, creating excitement for a four-day mega weekend during Holi in Udaipur. After Diwali, Holi is considered the biggest festival, and this year the extended weekend from 28 February to 3 March has brought fresh optimism to the tourism industry. With Holika Dahan and Dhulandi falling within this period, tourists will have ample time to travel and celebrate.

People associated with the tourism sector say that advance bookings have increased significantly due to the long weekend. Heritage hotels in the Old City, lakeside resorts, and boutique properties are witnessing fast bookings for special Holi celebration packages. Notably, foreign tourists prefer staying in the Old City to experience the traditional atmosphere of the festival of colors. According to representatives of hotel associations in South Rajasthan, the trend of large tourist groups visiting Udaipur during Holi has strengthened over the past three to four years, and the same pattern is visible this time as well. Currently, around 50 percent of bookings in the Old City area have already been confirmed, with expectations of further growth as the weekend approaches.

Resorts have launched special festive packages, with two-night couple stay packages starting at approximately ₹20,000, including accommodation, special Holi events, and meals. A four-day extended package is available for around ₹35,000. Many hotels are preparing theme based events featuring live music, poolside color celebrations, and traditional Rajasthani cuisine. Holi in Udaipur is renowned nationally and internationally for its royal traditions and cultural grandeur.

One of the main attractions is the traditional Holika Dahan ceremony at the City Palace, where the presence of the former royal family, traditional attire, and a royal procession add historical dignity to the event. A large number of domestic and international tourists gather to witness this ceremony. On Dhulandi, areas like Jagdish Chowk, Gangaur Ghat, Bhatiyani Chohatta, and Ghantaghar are drenched in colors. With DJs, drums, and live music, local and foreign tourists celebrate together. This vibrant atmosphere gives Udaipur a distinct identity as a premier Holi destination.
