Gangaur Ghat is the topmost and in addition to that one of the most important cultural ghats of Udaipur,
which can be found on the banks of Lake Pichola. The ghat derives its name from the Gangaur Festival, a traditional worship of Lord Shiva and goddess gauri, which has been held in this place since the Mewar kings era and is one of most prominent festivals in rajasthan. One of the fascinating activity is the display of the decorative boat of the maharana of udaipur.

The ghat has always been the center of spirituality, religious ceremonies, and royal processions that mirrors Udaipur’s vibrant culture.
Among other things, the ghat is notable for its stone stairs that have been carved with a lot of detail, the presence of big old havelis of course,
its peace, and its spiritualness. Gangaur Ghat is a tourist point mainly because of its wonderful views of Lake Pichola especially during sunrise
and sunset and besides that its real cultural ambience. The site lends itself perfectly to photography, peaceful strolls, and watching the locals
practicing their religions that are all contributing to it being a wonderful place to catch a glimpse of Udaipur.
