Jagdish Temple
Jagdish Temple is undoubtedly one of the most important and oldest temples in Udaipur; it is located just a stone’s throw away from the City Palace.
Built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh I, the temple is dedicated to the god Vishnu, who is worshipped here as Jagannath. The magnificent temple is a
symbol of the devoutness of the Mewar kings and has been attracting devotees for hundreds of years.
The temple is built in an Indo-Aryan style, and its outside as well as inside areas with their very beautifuller pillars, very intricate ceilings, and lovely stone
sculptures depicting gods, dancers, and musicians are all considered major attractions. The visitors’ main reason to come to the temple is not only the
architectural appreciation but also to witness the daily rituals and aartis, and to get the feel of the spiritual and cultural hub of the old city of Udaipur
