Shilpgram
Shilpgram, a vibrant complex of rural arts and crafts, can be found at the edge of Udaipur. It was inaugurated in 1989 with the aim of not only
keeping alive the art, culture, and lifestyle of Rajasthan but also of other Indian states. It is spread in the vast area of 70 acres. The site was meant to be a living ethnographic museum where one could see and experience village life, folk traditions, and crafts in the most genuine and authentic way.
The entire area is composed of traditional huts that represent various regions, and, besides that, it is also a place where the artisans are performing
the crafts like making pottery, weaving, doing embroidery and working with metal, etc. Furthermore, Shilpgram is a renowned place for its annual
Shilpgram Festival, which is the showcase of folk dances, music, handicrafts, and local food. Tourists really do not mind visiting Shilpgram for the colorful
and vibrant rural culture, to shop for handmade crafts and to watch live cultural performances, hence, making it a lively and absorbing cultural spot in
Udaipur. This fair recently took place from 21 to 30 Dec 2025.
